A poor life this, if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. -W.H. Davies
The Scottish Highlands
The Scottish Highlands in Northern Scotland are home to Ben Nevis, the highest point in Great Britain, myriad scenic hiking trails, and plenty of pristine lakes. They also contain a lot of Scottish history, including the infamous massacre at Glencoe, and were home to the kilt-wearing Celtic tribes of old that we think of so fondly. Castle lovers can flock to Scotland for a lifetime's fix of castles. Hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts will find more secluded trails and mountains here than anywhere else in Great Britain.
